Robert A. Breit, M.D.

Robert A. Breit, M.D. is the chairman and CEO of Meridian Regional Imaging, LLC, and a neuroradiologist at Central States Open MRI and Open MRI at Corporate Woods. In addition, he is one of the founding partners for Midwest Advanced Imaging Specialists. Dr. Breit also serves as co-medical director for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Institute of Lake County. He is a widely respected neuroradiologist who has limited his practice exclusively to MRI since 1992, and has extensive experience working on both high-field and open MRI systems.

Dr. Breit completed a two-year neuroradiology fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Following a transitional internship at MacNeal Hospital. He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Rush Presbyterian - St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, and attended the University of Virginia where he earned his medical degree as well as a bachelor of arts.

During his career, Dr. Breit served as chief of neuroradiology at VA Lakeside Medical Center. He then joined the faculty at Northwestern University Medical School, where he was appointed assistant professor of radiology, and served as the co-director for MRI services.

Dr. Breit retains his appointment with the Northwestern University School of Medicine, and has authored or co-authored 24 scientific publications and has lectured extensively on the fields of magnetic resonance imaging and neuro- radiology. In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Breit serves on the boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations, and is a member of the Executive Board of Directors for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
