Hemodialysis is a procedure used to treat your kidneys because they have difficulty, or have stopped functioning on their own. Performed on a regular basis, hemodialysis is the process of removing blood from your body through a vein “access site” and circulating that blood through a dialysis machine that filters waste products and excess fluids. The “cleaned” blood is then returned to the body.

We will help prepare you for hemodialysis by establishing and maintaining your vascular access (site on your body where blood is removed and returned), which provides a pain-free way for you to undergo hemodialysis.

For hemodialysis, we offer fistulagrams for evaluation and maintenance of arterial-venous (AV) fistulas, and insertion, evaluation and maintenance of tunneled and non-tunneled catheters.

Catheters can be used for temporary and longer-term dialysis access. There are two types of catheters: tunneled and non-tunneled. more...

A fistulagram is a diagnostic imaging exam that is done to determine if there are any problems with your arterial-venous (AV)fistula, such as blood clotting, and help your interventional radiologist plan the best treatment for you. more...
